San Siro, a football pilgrimage
Highlights
- A stadium shared by two rivals
- Spiral ramps, circling the ground
- Nearly a century of matches
- Shirts and trophies through the window
- Italian football, explained on camera
About this tour
This session covers San Siro from the outside, the stadium shared by AC Milan and Inter Milan. You see the spiral ramps that wrap around the ground and hear how it has grown since 1926, then reach the museum entrance, where shirts and trophies from both clubs are visible through the windows. It is a football history session built for anyone who cannot get to a match in the city themselves.
We start with a sound check outside the main gates, since the area can be busy on the way to the museum. I move around to the entrance for the second stop and answer questions about either club's history as we go. A short list of matchday traditions follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone with an interest in Italian football, whether or not they support either club. It also works well as a quick session for fans with limited time in Milan.

The camera circles the stadium's distinctive spiral ramps, and I explain how the ground has been rebuilt and expanded since it opened in 1926 to hold two rival clubs at once.

We reach the museum entrance, and I point out shirts and trophies visible through the windows, telling a few stories from matches played here over the decades.

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Ossobuco and Navigli, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
