Monte do Gozo, the pilgrim's first view
Highlights
- Where pilgrims first see the spires
- A monument built for a papal visit
- The Camino's final viewpoint
- A tradition older than its monument
- Santiago's skyline, from a distance
About this tour
This session shows Monte do Gozo, the hill on the Camino's last stretch where pilgrims traditionally get their first view of Santiago's cathedral spires. You see the large monument built for a papal visit and the view out toward the old town it was placed to mark. Antía explains a tradition that predates any monument here.
The walk stays largely at the viewpoint, with Antía explaining the hill's meaning before turning the camera out toward the city so you can try to pick out the spires yourself. She answers questions about the Camino's final stages as they come up.
This suits anyone drawn to the Camino's traditions even if they are not walking it themselves. It pairs naturally with Antía's Alameda session for two different outside views of the same city.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
