When the light works best: a photography planning call
Highlights
- A planning call, not a filmed walk
- The best hour for old town light
- Morning or evening, compared properly
- Timing advice from a working photographer
- Notes sent after, times included
About this tour
This call is a planning conversation about timing rather than a filmed walk. I explain which hour gives the best light on the mosque's stonework and which old town corners change most between morning and evening, based on years working as a photographer here. It stays a conversation rather than a live session.
We look at a few reference images I share on screen, and I ask what you are hoping to capture before suggesting specific times. I send a short written note afterwards with the timings we discussed.
This suits anyone planning to photograph the city seriously rather than casually. It also suits anyone choosing between an early morning or late afternoon visit.

We talk through which hour actually gives the best light on the mosque and the old town's stone, and I explain which spots change most dramatically between morning and evening.

Your questions 5 min
Ask anything that is still on your mind, there is no fixed script.
-
A written note after the call 3 min
You get a short follow-up message with everything mentioned, so you do not have to remember it all.
Good to know
- A stable phone or internet connection, whichever the guide uses to reach you.
- No app to install. You answer when the guide calls, or join a video call if you would rather.
- Times are shown in Sarajevo time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The call is not recorded. Keep your own note of anything you want to remember, or wait for the follow-up message.
- Have your questions ready, though there is time to think of more as you go.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
