The Museo Goya, from outside and in detail
Highlights
- Goya's early work, described in detail
- A Renaissance palace turned museum
- Zaragoza's most famous painter, explained
- Understanding Goya before his darker period
- Art history from outside the gallery
About this tour
This session focuses on the Museo Goya, housed in a Renaissance palace and dedicated to Zaragoza's most famous painter. You see the museum's exterior and hear a selection of Goya's early work described in detail where filming further inside is not possible. Pablo treats the collection as a starting point for understanding Goya before his later, darker period.
The session opens at the museum's exterior before moving to a description supported by printed images for the galleries the camera cannot reach. Pablo answers questions about Goya's career as they come up.
This suits anyone interested in art history in real depth. It also works well as preparation before a first visit to the museum itself.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
