About this tour

This evening call covers the Champ de Mars, the long lawn stretching from the Eiffel Tower toward the Military School, as the light starts to turn gold. Éric walks the length of the park before finishing at the tower's base as its lights switch on. The session is built around the hour when the whole park changes colour.

Éric starts among the lawns with a short check of the fading light. He walks at a relaxed pace toward the tower, answering questions about the structure's history as they come, and sends a short note on the best evenings to catch the light afterwards.

It suits anyone who prefers a quieter, slower look at the tower over the midday crowds. It also works well for viewers simply curious about the park itself.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Paris before heading out.

  2. Champ de Mars 15 min

As the evening light drops, the camera moves along the long lawns of the Champ de Mars, and Éric explains how this former military parade ground became the tower's front garden.

  3. Eiffel Tower base view 15 min

From the edge of the park, the camera looks up at the tower's underside as the first lights come on, and Éric points out how the structure was never meant to be permanent.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Paris: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Crêpes and Latin Quarter, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
