About this tour
This session covers the long seafront stretch from Tower Road to Independence Garden, the part of Sliema that faces Valletta directly across the water. You see the run of Art Nouveau balconies giving way to plainer Modernist blocks, and the small garden that has anchored this corner of the coast for a century. It stays on this one line of coast rather than cutting inland.
I start with a short sound check at the rail, then move at an easy pace between the two stops so the buildings stay legible on screen. Questions come up naturally about specific balconies or windows, and I answer them as we go rather than saving them for the end.
This suits anyone curious about how a seaside town's architecture layers up over a century. It also works well as a first look at Sliema before booking anything closer to the water.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Sliema before heading out.
-
Tower Road Promenade 21 min
You walk the long seafront promenade with Valletta's bastions across the water, and I point out the mix of Art Nouveau balconies and later Modernist blocks that sit side by side along the same stretch.
-
Independence Garden 21 min
The camera settles at the small seafront garden, a fixed point on this walk since the 1920s, and I explain how this corner of the coast has worked as Sliema's public front room for a century.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Sliema: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Pastizzi (ricotta or pea pastries) and Tigné Point, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
