Molo Audace, a pier built for sunset
Highlights
- A pier built over a sunken ship
- Sunset over the open gulf
- Slovenia and Croatia, visible in the distance
- Trieste's best free sunset spot
- A calm end to the day
About this tour
This session walks Molo Audace, a pier built over a sunken ship, timed for sunset over the gulf. You see the approach along the water first, then reach the end of the pier as the light drops, with the wider gulf opening out toward Slovenia and Croatia. It is a short, visual session built around one of Trieste's best sunset spots.
We start with a sound check partway along the pier, timed so the light is still good. I move to the end for the second stop, and this one leans more visual than talkative, though I answer questions as they come. A short note on the pier's history follows by message afterwards.
It suits anyone who prefers a calmer, more visual session over a history-heavy walk. It also works particularly well booked for the hour before sunset.

A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Presnitz and Cavana, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
