  • A festival explained outside its season

  • Valencia's biggest tradition, unpacked

About this tour

This call explains Fallas, Valencia's spring festival, using photographs and a small model rather than a live filmed walk, since the festival itself runs for only a few days each March. You see how the towering satirical sculptures are built and hear about the single figure spared from the fire and kept in the city's Fallas museum. It is a seasonal story told outside its season.

I talk through the festival's structure using images and one tangible model, taking your questions on the tradition as they come. Afterwards I send a short list of where to see saved figures outside festival dates.

This suits anyone visiting outside March who still wants to understand the festival. It also works well as a background call before a Fallas museum visit of your own.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
