Valencia's early twentieth-century facades
Highlights
- Dragon sculptures on an unusual corner building
- Ironwork balconies along a grand avenue
- A post office built for civic pride
- Three buildings, one architectural period
- Valencia beyond its churches and markets
About this tour
This walk traces Valencia's early twentieth-century architecture beyond the more famous Modernista markets. You see the dragon sculptures on Casa de los Dragones, ironwork balconies along Gran Via, and the grand facade of the main post office building. It links three very different buildings from the same period.
I move along Gran Via at a steady pace, stopping at each building in turn, and take your questions on the period's style throughout. Afterwards I send a short list of the buildings we saw.
This suits anyone who wants Valencia's architecture beyond its churches and markets. It also pairs well with a session on Mercado de Colón or the train station.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
