Vyšehrad, the fort across the river
Highlights
- A fort quieter than the main castle
- The Vltava's bend, seen from the walls
- Defensive ramparts, still walkable
- A view away from the busiest routes
- History and river views combined
About this tour
This session covers Vyšehrad's ramparts and a river viewpoint along the fort's walls, quieter than Prague's more famous castle. You see the fort's defensive walls, then a view over the Vltava's bend below. It is a nature-and-history session away from the busiest tourist routes.
I move at a relaxed pace along the ramparts, since the walk itself is part of the appeal. Questions come as we go, and I am happy to compare the fort's history with the main castle's if you ask. A short note on the fort's legends follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone who has already seen the main castle and wants a quieter alternative. It also suits viewers who enjoy a river view away from crowds.

Itinerary

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Prague before heading out.
-
Vyšehrad ramparts 21 min
The camera moves along the fort's ramparts, and I explain how the site sits quieter and less crowded than the castle across the river.
-
A view over the Vltava 21 min
We stop at a viewpoint along the walls, and I turn the camera out over the river to show how the fort commands its own bend of the water.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Prague: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Czech pilsner beer and Malá Strana, worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
