About this tour

This session follows Sorrento's old town as evening sets in, from Piazza Tasso to the cathedral and down to Marina Grande, the fishing village below the cliffs. You see the square filling up as the lights come on, the cathedral's marble facade, and the view across the Bay of Naples toward Vesuvius. It stays inside the historic centre and the cliff edge above the water.

A short sound check opens the call, then the guide walks the town stop by stop, answering questions live as the walk goes, with a note of a few more corners worth finding sent afterwards.

This suits anyone who loves an evening walk by the sea, whether planning a trip to Sorrento or remembering one.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Sorrento before heading out.

  2. Piazza Tasso 17 min

As the evening lights come on, the camera takes in Sorrento's main square, named after the poet Torquato Tasso, with cafe tables filling up around the edges.

  3. Sorrento Cathedral 17 min

Outside the cathedral, rebuilt in the fifteenth century, the guide points out the later marble facade and shares a story or two about the town's patron saints.

  4. Marina Grande 17 min

Down at the old fishing village below the cliffs, the camera catches the pastel houses and the lights of Naples across the bay, with Vesuvius a dark shape beyond them.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Sorrento: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Limoncello and Marina Piccola, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Rome time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
