About this tour
This session goes looking for the Plovdiv that sits just off the main route, through back streets, small squares and shortcuts locals actually use. You see independent shops without English signage and a square with a story most guidebooks skip. It stays close to the centre while avoiding its busiest stretches.
The guide checks sound at the first back street, then moves corner to corner at a relaxed pace, stopping wherever there is a story worth telling. Questions can come in about any street, shop or building along the way. A short list of honest tips for your own visit follows afterwards.
This suits repeat visitors to Plovdiv who have already covered the main sights, and first-time visitors who want to plan a quieter route. It also suits anyone who prefers back streets to main squares generally.

- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 6 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Plovdiv before heading out.
-
A Plovdiv back street 17 min
The camera turns off the main tourist route into a back street of small independent shops, most without English signage. The guide explains what each one sells and why it survives without relying on visitors.
-
A small square 17 min
In a small square barely wide enough for a fountain, the camera settles while the guide tells the story attached to it, one most guidebooks leave out. Locals cross through on their way somewhere else.
-
A second hidden corner 17 min
The camera finds a second quiet corner near the Old Town, a set of steps locals use as a shortcut between the hills. The guide points out a detail on one of the houses that is easy to miss.
-
Your questions 11 min
Time to ask anything about Plovdiv: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 5 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Banitsa and Old Town, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
