About this tour
This session covers Piazza della Riforma, the arcaded square at the centre of Lugano's daily life, and the cathedral facade visible above it. You see the buildings ringing the square and a Renaissance facade rising from the streets nearby. Matteo, who grew up a few doors away, explains how the square has hosted markets and public life for generations.
He starts under the arcades, giving the square's history proper time, before walking up toward the cathedral view. He answers questions about the square's role in city life throughout.
This suits a first session for anyone new to Lugano's old town. It also works well before exploring Via Nassa's shopping streets nearby.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
