About this tour
This session circles the Palais de l'Isle, Annecy's most photographed building, from its stone walls rising out of the canal to the reflection point just downstream. You see the moated triangular shape from angles most visitors never think to find. Chloé, who has known this stretch of water her whole life, explains how the building's odd shape led to its long use as a prison.
The call opens with a sound check on the canal bank, then moves slowly around the building for different angles. Chloé lets the water do most of the visual work and answers questions as they come rather than rushing between spots. A short list of the viewpoints follows by message once the call ends.
This suits anyone who wants Annecy's signature image explained properly rather than just seen in a photo. It also works well as a first stop before a longer old town walk.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Annecy before heading out.
-
Palais de l'Isle exterior 21 min
The camera circles the moated triangular building from the canal bank, its stone walls rising straight out of the water. I explain how a building shaped like the strip of land it sits on ended up as a prison for centuries.
-
Canal reflection point 21 min
You see the Palais reflected almost perfectly in the still canal water from a quiet spot just downstream. I point out the time of day when the reflection is sharpest.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Annecy: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Tartiflette and Vieille Ville, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
