About this tour
This session follows Antalya's old defences from Hadrian's Gate along the walls and into the backstreets of Kaleiçi. You see the carved arches up close, the patched sections of wall that reveal centuries of rebuilding, and a quiet lane of restored Ottoman houses just inside them. Together the stops trace how the old town has been repaired and reused rather than replaced.
I open with a sound check at the gate, then we move along the wall stop by stop while you ask questions about the different periods. I slow down at a doorway with a legible old date so you can read it yourself on camera. Afterwards I send a short note on the dates and names we covered.
This suits anyone who wants the layered history of Antalya's old town explained clearly rather than skimmed. It also suits a traveller planning their own walk through Kaleiçi who wants the background first.

Hadrian's Gate 21 min
The camera holds on the triple arches and the carved lettering above them. I explain why the gate was built for a single imperial visit and how it survived while the walls around it changed.

You follow the stretch of wall running from the gate toward the harbour. I point out sections rebuilt at different periods, visible in the change of stone colour.

Kaleiçi Backstreets 21 min
We move into the narrow lanes just inside the walls, past restored Ottoman houses. I show you a doorway with an old carved date still legible above it.
