  • Northern European painting without the crowd
  • A practical companion to your own visit
  • Skipping the longest queue in the building

About this tour

This call is built around the Louvre's single busiest room and where to go once you have seen it. Juliette explains from outside the Denon wing why the Mona Lisa's queue moves so slowly, then walks to the quieter Passage Richelieu side of the building. The session is a practical companion to a real visit as much as a tour in itself.

Juliette begins outside the Denon wing with a short sound check. She walks at a relaxed pace toward the museum's quieter side, answering questions about specific galleries as they arrive, and sends a short list of rooms worth prioritising once the call ends.

It suits anyone planning a Louvre visit who wants to skip the single longest queue in the building. It also works well as a second call after a first general overview.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Paris before heading out.

  2. Denon wing exterior 21 min

From outside the Denon wing, Juliette describes the room the Mona Lisa hangs in and explains why the queue for that single painting can take longer than the rest of the museum combined.

  3. Passage Richelieu 21 min

A short walk to the museum's quieter side, Juliette points out the Northern European and French sculpture galleries she sends people toward instead.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Paris: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Steak frites and Montmartre, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
