About this tour

This short walk follows the Street of the Knights, the medieval street where different language groups within the Knights Hospitaller each kept their own inn. Kyriaki shows the worn cobbles and the coats of arms still visible above several doorways. She explains how the order organised itself by nationality within a single street.

Kyriaki checks her connection at the top of the street before walking down at an easy pace, pointing out specific facades and their carved emblems. She answers questions about the Knights' organisation as she goes. A short list of what was seen follows the call.

This suits travellers interested in medieval history and architecture who want a short, focused walk. It also pairs well with a session on the nearby Palace of the Grand Master.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Rhodes before heading out.

  2. The cobbled street 15 min

Kyriaki walks the steep, cobbled Street of the Knights, the camera catching the worn stone underfoot and the coats of arms carved above several doorways.

  3. An inn's facade 15 min

Stopping at one of the former inns, she points out which language group of Knights it once housed, explaining how the order was organised by nationality.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Rhodes: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Melekouni (sesame and honey sweet) and New Town (Neo Chora), worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Athens time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
