About this tour

This session walks the Albaicín's white lanes as the low evening sun turns the walls gold, from a narrow street following the district's medieval layout to a quiet square once built around a water cistern. You see the colour shift happen in real time as the light drops. The route stays short, timed entirely around the last hour of good light.

We begin in the lane with a quick check of the colour on the walls, then move to the square, pausing there as the light continues to change. I keep the talking light and answer questions as they come, since the light itself does not wait.

This suits anyone who wants to see the Albaicín at its most photogenic hour, and travellers who prefer atmosphere over dense history. It works only in the evening, so timing matters here.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Granada before heading out.

  2. A whitewashed lane at sunset 21 min

The camera moves through a narrow whitewashed lane as the low sun turns the walls a warm gold colour, and I point out how the district's layout still follows its medieval Moorish street pattern.

  3. A quiet square 21 min

You see a small square opening up between houses, empty at this hour, and I explain how these pockets of open space were originally left for cisterns collecting rainwater.

  4. Your questions 9 min

Time to ask anything about Granada: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 4 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Habas con jamón and Albaicín, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
