About this tour
This session looks at Obere Pfarre, home to Bamberg's Marian altar and its tallest spire. You see the altar's carved figures up close and then the spire itself from the street outside. It is a focused look at one church's two most distinctive features.
I move slowly inside before stepping back out for the exterior view, explaining each part in turn. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on the altar's history.
This suits anyone interested in Gothic art and architecture. It also pairs well with the Michaelsberg session for a fuller look at Bamberg's church history.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
