About this tour

This session moves through the Judería from the lane called Calle Judíos to the small medieval synagogue and a quiet inner courtyard nearby, tracing how a whole community once lived inside a few dense blocks. You see the plaster stucco inside the synagogue up close, which photographs often flatten out. The route stays short but each stop gets proper time on camera.

We start with a minute to settle the connection, then move gently between the three stops rather than rushing the distance, since it is short. I answer questions as we go rather than saving them, and afterward I send over the names of the streets we covered.

This suits anyone with an interest in Jewish history in Spain before 1492, or simply travellers who prefer a quieter corner of the city away from the Mezquita crowds. It works well as a first session before a longer walk elsewhere in the old town.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cordoba before heading out.

  2. Calle Judíos 17 min

You see the narrow lane that gives the quarter its name, whitewashed walls close enough to touch on either side, and I point out a worn stone that once marked a doorway.

  3. The synagogue interior 17 min

The camera moves slowly around the small prayer hall, one of only three medieval synagogues left standing in Spain, and I show the plaster stucco work high on the walls.

  4. A hidden inner courtyard 17 min

We reach a private courtyard opened for the call, tiled and quiet, and I explain how these small patios once let air move through houses built wall to wall.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about Cordoba: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Rabo de toro and Centro, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
