Pakleni Islands by water taxi
Highlights
- Wooded islets a short crossing away
- Coves that stay quiet in summer
- The old town seen from the water
- A live look before booking a boat
- Hvar's islands, explained from the water
About this tour
This session takes a water taxi out to the Pakleni Islands, the chain of wooded islets just offshore from Hvar's harbour. You see the old town from the water as the boat leaves, then the islets themselves, with quiet coves pointed out along the way. It is a practical, live look at the islands rather than a description of them from land.
We start at the harbour with a sound check, then move through the crossing stop by stop, taking questions about the different coves and how to reach them independently. A short list of names follows once the session ends.
It suits anyone deciding whether a boat day fits their visit. It also suits an early booking, since the morning crossings tend to be calmest.
Included

Leaving the harbour 21 min
The camera looks back at Hvar's old town as the water taxi pulls away, and I explain how close the Pakleni Islands actually sit offshore.

Among the islets 21 min
As we pass between the wooded islets, I point out the coves that stay quiet even in the busiest months.

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Plavac Mali wine and Grad, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Zagreb time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
