An evening in the old town
Highlights
- Merchants' street shopfronts lit for evening
- A warm terrace under string lights
- Petite Venise, quiet after dark
- How lighting changes a familiar street
- Seventy-five minutes from dusk to night
About this tour
This evening session follows Colmar's old town as the shops close and the wine bars fill instead, ending back at the canal after dark. You see the merchants' street and a terrace lit warmly against the timber houses, then a quieter, stiller Petite Venise. Marie explains how the same streets change character completely once the light changes.
The call opens with a sound check as the light starts to fade, then moves at an easy pace between the three stops. Marie answers questions throughout and lingers wherever the lighting is best for the camera. A short list of the stops follows by message once the session ends.
This suits anyone who has already seen Colmar by day and wants the evening version too. It also suits viewers simply curious about a smaller French town after dark.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 6 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Colmar before heading out.
-
Rue des Marchands at dusk 17 min
The camera follows the merchants' street as shopfronts close and restaurant lights come on instead. I point out the carved house fronts that look completely different once lit from below.
-
A wine bar terrace 17 min
You see a terrace filling with early evening drinkers, the timber houses glowing warm under string lights. I explain why Colmar's evenings stay quieter than its daytime market crowds.
-
Petite Venise by night 17 min
The camera returns to the canal, now lit by window lights rather than daylight, the water almost still. I point out how different the same view looks once the crowds have gone.
-
Your questions 11 min
Time to ask anything about Colmar: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 5 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Baeckeoffe and Place de l'Ancienne Douane, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 9 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.
Questions about this tour

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
