I have lived beside Petite Venise my whole life, so I know exactly which bridge gives the best reflection of the pastel houses at any hour. On camera I move slowly along the canal and let the colours do most of the talking rather than filling every second with commentary. I also take viewers past the covered market when it is open, since the sight of the stalls still comes through clearly on a screen. I answer questions properly rather than rushing to the next stop, since Colmar rewards a slower pace.
