Marjan Hill's forested viewpoints
Highlights
- Pine paths above the old town
- Small chapels among the trees
- Split's rooftops from a clearing
- Islands seen from the peninsula's top
- The city's shape, explained from above
About this tour
This session climbs Marjan Hill, the forested peninsula above Split, stop by stop from the shaded lower paths to the main viewpoint at the top. You see small chapels tucked among the pines on the way up, a clearing where the rooftops first come into view, and finally the whole peninsula spread out with the islands offshore. It is the clearest way to understand Split's shape from above.
We move up the paths stop by stop, checking the connection as the trees thin out, and take questions at each stop rather than only at the end. A short list of the viewpoints follows once we reach the top.
It suits anyone who wants Split's geography explained properly rather than glimpsed from the Riva. It also suits an early or late booking, when the light over the islands is at its best.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

A short list to keep 6 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Crni rižot (black risotto) and Diocletian's Palace, worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
