About this tour
This session looks at one specific thing most visitors photograph without ever asking about. You see the Neretva's distinctive colour up close at the water's edge, then the same stretch of river from a terrace above it. It stays focused on the water itself throughout.
I explain the colour properly rather than just pointing it out, since it actually changes through the year in ways most guides never mention. The pace stays slow and the questions tend to be specific once people realise there is a real answer.
This suits anyone who has already photographed the river and wants to understand what they saw. It also suits anyone with a genuine interest in the geography behind a famous view.

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Mostar before heading out.
-
Neretva Riverbank 15 min
You see the river's distinctive green-blue colour from close to the water, and I explain how the shade actually shifts through the year depending on rainfall and the glacier melt further upstream.
-
Old Town Lookout Terrace 15 min
From a terrace above the water, the camera takes in the whole bend of the river through the old town, and I point out how the light changes the colour again from this higher angle.
-
Your questions 7 min
Time to ask anything about Mostar: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 3 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Bosnian coffee and Old Town, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Sarajevo time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
