About this tour

This call covers the short walk between Montmartre and Pigalle, two neighbourhoods that sit right against each other but feel entirely different. Julien descends a quiet staircase at dusk before reaching the edge of the boulevard below. The session focuses on exactly where and how that change happens.

Julien opens at the top of the steps with a short sound check as the light fades. He walks down at a steady pace, answering questions about both neighbourhoods as they arrive, and sends a short note afterwards on the best time to make the same walk.

It suits anyone curious about how quickly a city's atmosphere can shift within a few streets. It also works as a natural link between a Montmartre visit and an evening in Pigalle.

Included

  • Live video walk with a local guide
  • Questions to your guide all the way
  • A short list of places to visit later

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Paris before heading out.

  2. Montmartre steps 15 min

As dusk settles, the camera descends a quiet staircase, and Julien explains how these steps mark the exact line between the hill's village feel and Pigalle's nightlife below.

  3. Pigalle entrance 15 min

At the bottom of the steps, the camera reaches the edge of the boulevard, and Julien points out how the atmosphere changes within the space of a few metres.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Paris: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Steak frites and Latin Quarter, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
