About this tour

This session walks Parte Vieja by day, from its quieter morning alleys to Constitution Square and the harbour edge beyond it. You see numbered balconies left over from the square's old use as a bullring and the point where the old town meets the working harbour. Xabier shows a version of the old town most visitors only see after dark.

The walk moves from the narrow alleys out to the open square and finally to the harbour, with Xabier pointing out details on building facades that are easy to miss in the evening crowd. He answers questions about the old town's daytime rhythms as they come up.

This suits anyone who has already seen Parte Vieja at night and wants the calmer daytime version. It also works well as a first orientation before exploring further alone.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 6 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of San Sebastian before heading out.

  2. Morning market alleys 17 min

The camera moves through the old town's narrower alleys in the morning, quieter than in the evening, with a few stalls setting up for the day.

  3. Constitution square 17 min

The old town's main square once served as a bullring, and I point out the numbered balconies still visible on the surrounding buildings from that use.

  4. Harbourside edge 17 min

The walk finishes where the old town meets the harbour, and I explain how fishing and the old town have always sat right beside each other here.

  5. Your questions 11 min

Time to ask anything about San Sebastian: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  6. A short list to keep 5 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Idiazábal cheese and Parte Vieja, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 8 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
