Inside Lugano's newer home for contemporary art
Highlights
- A modern building for contemporary art
- A changing exhibition explained on camera
- Architecture read alongside the art inside
- Lugano's newer cultural landmark
- A focused look at current exhibitions
About this tour
This session covers LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, the city's centre for contemporary art, music and theatre. You see the building's modern exterior and a small selection from whichever exhibition is currently on display inside. Chiara explains how the centre changed what kind of art Lugano could show when it opened.
She starts outside with the architecture before moving to a quieter gallery room inside. She keeps the selection of works small and gives each one proper time rather than rushing through a whole exhibition.
This suits anyone with an interest in contemporary art or architecture specifically. It pairs naturally with the Luini fresco session for a fuller range of Lugano's art history.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
