Izmir Archaeology Museum: finds from Smyrna
Highlights
- Marble statues from the Smyrna Agora
- Ancient coins, read closely
- Objects that complete the ruins outside
- A museum guide's slower pace
- Smyrna's history in small objects
About this tour
This session moves through Izmir's Archaeology Museum, focused on finds recovered from the Smyrna excavations across the city. You see marble statues in the entrance gallery and a case of regional coins further inside. Pınar explains what specific pieces reveal about the ancient city that a walk through its ruins alone cannot show.
The call opens with a sound check in the entrance gallery, then moves case by case as Pınar holds the camera on individual objects longer than a typical visit allows. She answers questions as they come up and sends a short list of the objects shown afterwards.
This suits anyone who has already walked the Agora and wants the objects that came out of it. It also works as an indoor session on a hot afternoon.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later
Not included

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
