About this tour

This session shows Casa de Pilatos from its entrance courtyard, a house that mixes Mudéjar tile work with Italian Renaissance sculpture brought back by a 16th-century Spanish noble. You see the courtyard's columns and some of the finest tiled panels in the city from just inside the door. The deeper rooms stay ticketed, so the session focuses on what the courtyard alone shows clearly.

We begin at the doorway with a short check of the light inside the courtyard, then move slowly along the tiled walls, pausing at a few of the most detailed panels. I answer questions about the house's mixed styles as we go and send a short note on its history afterward.

This suits anyone drawn to tile work and courtyard architecture, and travellers looking for a shorter session between longer ones. It also works well paired with the Giralda climb earlier in the day.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Seville before heading out.

  2. The main entrance courtyard 15 min

The camera holds on the columned entrance courtyard, visible from just inside the doorway, and I explain how the house mixes Mudéjar tile work with imported Italian Renaissance marble statues.

  3. The tiled facade 15 min

You see the tiled panels lining the courtyard walls up close, some of the finest 16th-century ceramic work in the city, and I point out the geometric patterns unique to this house.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Seville: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Gazpacho and Triana, worth a slower look.

Good to know

  • A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
  • Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
  • Times are shown in Madrid time, so check the time where you are before you book.
  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
