About this tour

This session moves from a wine bar counter to a nearby tapas spot near Plaza de la Merced, showing Málaga's traditional sweet wine and the savoury pairings locals actually order with it. You see the muscatel grape explained before the contrast it creates with salty tapas. The route stays short, built around the early evening hour.

We begin at the wine counter with a quick check of the light, then walk the short distance to the tapas bar, pausing to explain the pairing tradition. Questions come in freely as we go, and I send a short note on the wine style afterward.

This suits travellers curious about a wine style rarely exported far from the region, and anyone easing into an evening out. It runs early enough to lead naturally into a longer night elsewhere.

Itinerary

  1. Welcome and sound check 5 min

The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Malaga before heading out.

  2. A wine bar counter 15 min

The camera settles on a row of small glasses filled with Málaga's traditional sweet wine, and I explain how the local muscatel grape differs from the drier styles more familiar to most visitors.

  3. A nearby tapas bar 15 min

You see a short walk to a bar near the square known for pairing that same sweet wine with savoury tapas, and I explain why the contrast between sweet and savoury is a genuinely local habit.

  4. Your questions 7 min

Time to ask anything about Malaga: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.

  5. A short list to keep 3 min

Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Espeto de sardinas and Centro Histórico, worth a slower look.

  • The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
  • Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
  • Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
