Crossing to Ostrów Tumski
Highlights
- A footbridge onto the oldest island
- Where settlement in Poznan began
- A noticeably different pace
- Quiet streets across the water
- A calmer side of central Poznan
About this tour
This session crosses onto Ostrów Tumski, the small island that became the oldest settled part of Poznan. You see the footbridge onto the island and its quiet streets, a noticeably different pace from the busy market square nearby. It is a shorter, calmer walk rather than a detailed history session.
I start with a sound check at the footbridge, then walk the island's main street explaining why settlement began here. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on the island's layout.
This suits anyone who wants a calmer side of central Poznan. It also pairs well with the cathedral session for the fuller early history.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

- A short list of places to visit later

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
