  • A quieter corner of ancient Halicarnassus

About this tour

This session stops at the Myndos Gate, the last standing entrance of ancient Halicarnassus's city walls, and follows the stretch of wall running from it. You see the gate itself and the defensive ditch in front of it, alongside a run of surviving wall stones. Cem, who grew up nearby, explains how the ancient boundary compares with the town's current streets.

The call opens with a sound check at the gate, then follows the wall line as Cem points out where the ancient city ended. He takes questions throughout and sends a short note afterwards on the site's connection to Alexander's siege.

This suits anyone interested in the ancient city beyond the castle and marina most visitors see first. It also works well for a shorter session focused on one specific site.

Included

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
