About this tour
This session climbs Pöstlingberg, the hill above Linz, following the route of one of the world's steepest mountain railways rather than riding it. You see the riverside promenade at the start, the railway's track partway up, and then a full view back across the city from the summit. It is a session built around a steady climb and the view it earns.
I keep an unhurried pace on the climb, pausing at the railway track to explain how it still runs on its original steep grade. Questions come in throughout, and I answer most of them once we reach the summit view, where there is time to talk properly. A short note on the wider hill follows once we finish.
This suits anyone who wants Linz from above rather than only its streets. It also works well in the late morning, when the light across the river is at its clearest.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
