About this tour
This shorter session looks at Santa Croce from outside, focusing on its facade and the square in front of it. You see the polychrome marble facade added long after the church's original construction, and the wider square that has served many different public purposes over time. The camera stays outside throughout.
We spend time on the facade's later addition, since it is easy to assume it dates from the same period as the church itself. I explain the square's varied history as we turn across it, and take questions throughout.
