Parque Grande, Zaragoza's quieter side
Highlights
- A tree-lined avenue from the 1900s
- Formal gardens around a central fountain
- Zaragoza's first large public park
- A design borrowed from grander parks
- A quieter side of a busy city
About this tour
This session walks Parque Grande, Zaragoza's largest park, from its main tree-lined avenue to the formal gardens around its central fountain. You see a quieter, greener side of the city away from the basilica crowds. Elena explains how the park's early twentieth century design borrowed from grander European parks of the same period.
The walk moves along the avenue and into the gardens at an easy pace, with Elena pointing out plantings and design details along the way. She answers questions about the park's history as they come up.
This suits anyone who wants a calmer session away from the old town's busiest streets. It also pairs well with Elena's riverside Parque del Agua session for two different green spaces in one city.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
