Highlights

- Ołowianka Island, explained simply
About this tour
This session walks Ołowianka Island, once packed with granaries that stored grain for export across Europe. You see the brick walls of the handful that survived a fire in 1945 and hear how the grain trade shaped the whole city's wealth. It is a quieter corner most visits skip.
I start with a sound check by the surviving walls, then walk the island explaining the trade that once ran through here. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on what the island looks like today.
This suits anyone interested in trade history or the economics behind Gdansk's grand buildings elsewhere in the city. It also pairs well with the crane session for the fuller trading picture.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
