Cours Mirabeau at golden hour
Highlights
- Golden hour along Cours Mirabeau
- Four fountains, seen one by one
- Plane trees meeting overhead
- Cafe terraces filling up at dusk
- One street, told slowly
About this tour
This short session walks the length of Cours Mirabeau as the evening light turns warm, from the roundabout fountain at one end to the quieter stretch near Quartier Mazarin. You see the plane tree canopy overhead and the cafe terraces filling up as the day cools. It is a simple route built entirely around one street and the way it changes at this hour.
We keep a relaxed pace, since there is only one street to cover, and I stop wherever the light or the crowd is doing something worth a longer look. I take questions as we go and will turn back for a second pass if someone asks.
This suits anyone who wants a calm, visual session rather than a packed itinerary. It also works well as a first look at Aix before booking something more specific.
Included

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Aix-en-Provence before heading out.
-
Fontaine de la Rotonde 21 min
You start at the wide roundabout fountain that marks one end of Cours Mirabeau, with the light beginning to turn gold behind it. I point out the three statues facing different directions, each one meant for a road leading out of the city.
-
The plane tree canopy 21 min
Halfway along the avenue, the camera tilts up into the plane trees, which meet overhead and turn the street the colour of the sky. I explain why the trees were planted close together and how the canopy shapes the street's temperature.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Aix-en-Provence: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Soupe au pistou and Vieux Aix, worth a slower look.
Good to know

- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 12 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
