Orange groves and spoon sweets
Highlights
- A grove worked by three generations
- Oranges turned into syrup sweets
- A process unchanged for decades
- The plain outside town, shown live
- A family food tradition, explained
About this tour
This session shows the region's orange groves and the spoon sweet tradition tied to them, filmed at my own family's grove outside town. You see the rows of trees and then the fruit being prepared into syrup-preserved sweets, with the process explained step by step. It stays within this one family grove.
I move slowly between the trees and the preparation area, since I grew up helping with this process myself. Questions about the fruit and the tradition come up often, and I answer them from years of family experience.
This suits anyone curious about the region's food traditions beyond its history and fortresses. It also works well paired with a taverna session for the fuller local food picture.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
