About this tour
This session walks the old town of Cascais, starting at Praca 5 de Outubro and moving into the quieter lanes behind it. You see the square's cafe terraces and restored townhouses, then the narrower calcada streets where most visitors do not wander. It is a short, unhurried look at the town's original centre.
We check the connection on the square first, then move into the back lanes for the second stop, pausing for questions about the tile work and the history of the square. Afterwards I send a short list of the streets we covered.
It suits anyone who prefers a quiet walk to a busy landmark tour, and travellers staying near the beach who want a sense of the older town behind it. There is no stop inside any shop or cafe along the way.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Cascais before heading out.
-
Praca 5 de Outubro 21 min
You see the square's restored townhouses and cafe terraces, and I explain how this became the social centre of Cascais once the royal family started summering nearby.
-
Back lanes 21 min
The camera turns off the main square into narrower calcada lanes, quieter and mostly residential, and I point out the tile work on a few of the older house fronts.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Cascais: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Queijada de Sintra and Old Town (Vila Velha), worth a slower look.

- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
