Bornheim's own Apfelwein taverns
Highlights
- A quieter, more local Apfelwein tradition
- A neighbourhood mostly unchanged for decades
- A weekly market beside the taverns
- An ordinary district, not a destination
- Bornheim, away from the tourist route
About this tour
This session shows Bornheim's quieter, more local version of the Apfelwein tradition, away from the busier Sachsenhausen taverns most visitors know. You see a neighbourhood tavern street and a weekly market that has changed little in decades. It moves through an ordinary residential district throughout.
We move at an easy pace between the two stops, and I keep commentary grounded in what has genuinely stayed the same here rather than comparing constantly to the busier district. Questions about the neighbourhood come naturally. A short note on Bornheim follows by message.
It suits anyone who has already seen Sachsenhausen and wants a quieter, more local alternative. It also works well for anyone simply curious about an ordinary Frankfurt neighbourhood.
Included

The camera holds on a quieter tavern street in Bornheim, and I explain how the neighbourhood's own Apfelwein tradition differs from the busier Sachsenhausen version.

A short list to keep 3 min

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
