The cathedral Christmas market, explained on a call
Highlights
- Stalls beside the cathedral, in photographs
- What each stall traditionally sells
- A Christmas tradition explained off season
- One of the city's oldest markets
- A short, focused seasonal explanation
About this tour
This short call explains Fira de Santa Llúcia, the Christmas market held beside the cathedral each December, using photographs rather than a live walk outside that season. You see what the stalls traditionally sell and hear how long the market has run in the same spot. It is a seasonal tradition explained out of season.
I talk through a set of photographs stall by stall, taking your questions on the tradition as they come. Afterwards I send a short note on when the market usually opens each year.
This suits anyone visiting outside December who still wants to understand the tradition. It also works well as a short add-on to a longer Barcelona call.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
