Pastitsada in a Corfiot kitchen
Highlights
- A dish unique to this island
- A spice blend explained in full
- Sauce built slowly, step by step
- A family recipe, generations old
- Corfiot cooking, shown at home
About this tour
This session shows pastisada, one of Corfu's most recognisable dishes, cooked in a home kitchen. You see the tomato sauce built up with its distinctive spice blend and then the finished dish, with the recipe's history in my own family explained along the way. It stays within this one kitchen.
I move slowly through the sauce's stages, since the spice balance takes real explaining to get across properly on camera. Questions about the recipe come up often, and I answer them the way my own family has always discussed food.
This suits anyone curious about Corfu's distinctive food culture beyond the more generic Greek dishes. It also works well paired with the kumquat session for a fuller taste of the island's kitchens.
Included
- Live video session with a local guide
- A close look at the dishes and where locals buy them
- A short list of places and dishes to try later
Not included
- Food and drinks shown on camera
- Travel to the city

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
