About this tour
This session follows Kotor's fortress walk, from the old mule track known as the Ladder of Kotor up through the walls of San Giovanni fortress. The guide climbs in real time, pointing out the chapel on the route and the view over the Bay of Kotor from height. It is a look at the fortification that has watched over the town for centuries.
The call opens with a quick sound check before the climb begins, then moves stop by stop up the fortress route, pausing to catch breath and answer questions along the way. Near the top, the guide leaves room for questions about the walk itself, and sends a short list of practical notes afterwards.
This suits anyone who enjoys a good climb with a view at the end, whether planning the walk themselves or happy to watch from a chair. It also works for anyone curious about how a medieval hill fortress is built into a mountainside.

On the way down along the fortress walls, the camera holds on the whole mountain-ringed Bay of Kotor spread out below, often compared to a fjord, before dropping back into the old town streets.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
