About this tour
This session follows a food and whisky route through Leith, from seafood on the Shore to a former bonded warehouse used for whisky storage. You see oysters and langoustines outside a harbourside restaurant, haggis and tatties made properly in a Leith kitchen, and three single malts explained side by side. It ends at the old port, where Leith's working history as Edinburgh's harbour is still visible in the buildings.
The call begins with a sound check, then moves stop by stop from the water's edge inland to the kitchen and the warehouse, with plenty of time at each one. Questions come as the walk goes, and a short list of the dishes, drams and addresses follows by message afterwards.
This suits anyone interested in Scottish food and whisky beyond what is usually described in a guidebook. It also suits those who cannot travel to Leith but want to see how the dishes and the drams are actually made.
Included
- Live video session with a local guide
- A close look at the dishes and where locals buy them

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
