About this tour
This session follows the Uetliberg ridge from its summit tower, with the Alps visible on a clear day, down to a lido on Lake Zurich. You see the planetary trail's scale model of the solar system along the ridge and the cable car ride down to Adliswil. It ends where most walkers catch the train back into the city.
The guide checks sound at the summit tower, then walks the ridge trail before riding the cable car down and finishing at the lake. Questions can come in about the route, the planetary trail or the trains and cable cars used along the way. A short list of the route and timings is sent on afterwards.
This suits walkers weighing up the Uetliberg route before doing it themselves, and anyone who wants mountain and lake views without leaving their chair. It also suits former visitors curious how the trail looks this season.

- Live video walk with a local guide

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 10 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Zurich before heading out.
-
Uetliberg summit tower 21 min
The camera climbs the summit tower on Uetliberg, Zurich's home mountain, with the Alps visible on a clear day. The guide explains why this hill became the city's easiest escape from the centre.
-
The planetary trail 21 min
Along the ridge the camera passes markers of the planetary trail, a scale model of the solar system spread out over several kilometres. The guide explains how far apart the planets are placed to keep the scale accurate.
-
Felsenegg cable car 21 min
At Felsenegg the camera rides the cable car down toward Adliswil, forest dropping away beneath the cabin. The guide explains why this route is usually walked one way and ridden the other.
-
Lake Zurich lido 21 min
The walk ends at a lido on Lake Zurich, the camera panning across swimmers and sunbathers by the water. The guide points toward the train station where the return journey starts.
-
Your questions 18 min
Time to ask anything about Zurich: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 8 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Cheese fondue and Zürich West, worth a slower look.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
