I spent thirty years teaching history at one of the colleges before I retired and started doing this instead, mostly because I missed explaining buildings to people who actually wanted to listen. On camera I like standing at the gate of Trinity's Great Court so you can see the full sweep of the courtyard in one shot, which a walking group rarely manages without someone blocking the view. I still get a small thrill pointing out the fountain Newton is said to have used to estimate the speed of sound. Ask me anything about the colleges and I will say plainly when an answer is disputed.
