I grew up on the road to Sete Cidades, and the twin crater lakes are still the first thing I show anyone who books a session with me. On camera I try to catch the colour difference between the blue and green lakes from the rim before we drop into the caldera itself. I also take viewers up to Lagoa do Fogo on clear days, though I am honest on camera when cloud rolls in and the lake disappears, since that happens more than people expect on this island. Guiding by video means I can wait out the weather instead of rushing a route along.
