Andre Machado

I worked on a fishing boat out of Lagos harbour before I started guiding, so the marina and the Zona Ribeirinha promenade beside it are where I feel most at home with a camera. On a video session I walk the promenade explaining how the working harbour and the newer marina sit side by side, and some mornings I go down to the quay instead to show the catch coming in before the restaurants open. I never promise a taste through the screen, only an honest look at where Lagos' seafood actually starts its journey. Six years in, I still know most of the boats by name.
