I trained as a ceramics restorer before I started guiding, so the Delftware factory is where I still feel most useful on camera, holding the frame steady on a brush moving across unfired clay. I explain the difference between a hand-painted piece and a printed one, since most visitors cannot tell until it is pointed out to them. I also cover the Oude Kerk, since Vermeer's grave there connects naturally to the painted tiles a street away. I like a session that stays on one craft rather than rushing across the whole old town.
